Earlier this week, Kamala Harris surprisingly dropped out of the Democratic Primary race. This came as a shock to many, since she was polling at top 5 for most of the year.
Looking back at Harris’ campaign, one can appreciate that she was a fighter; and aggressive both for the policies she believed in and against Trump’s behavior.
Compared to the other top contenders, her concern for gun violence, as shown by the chart above, was second to none. This exemplifies her willingness to embrace her past as an attorney general: she was unafraid to point out the issues that deserved more justice or the people that she believed deserved prosecution.
Of her most used words on Twitter, “fight” and “women” make the list. This is no coincidence, and she will be remembered historically as a black female candidate who wanted nothing less than justice for the America she believed in.
